Sponsor License Rating is the process of providing proper rating by UKVI, to decide whether to forward your application for a sponsor license or not.
There are two types of Sponsor Licence Ratings given to an employer, which are A-rating or B-rating. An A-rating is allotted when you correctly follow your sponsor licence duties and have met all the requirements.

- Unrestricted Certificates
- Restricted Certificates
What is an Unrestricted Certificate?
There is no limit on the number of unrestricted certificates of sponsorship a business can get. If the job falls under the shortage occupation list and pays more than £155,300 and the worker is allowed to switch within the UK.
What is a restricted certificate of sponsorship?
The restricted certificates are for those Tier 2 (General) workers who are currently abroad, but are employed and will be paid less than £155,300 per year and also not employed as in inward investment posts.
Also, these are for family members or dependents of Tier 4 visa holders who want to switch to Tier 2 (General) visa.
