eligibility criteria to get a global talent visa for the UK

Eligibility criteria to get a global talent visa: The Global Talent Visa Program is a streamlined visa pathway for highly skilled and promising professionals to work and live in the United Kingdom. The UK has also a beautiful lifestyle, one of the most wealthy, safe and culturally diverse nations in the world. Here you will find enough opportunities for innovation, with a business-friendly regulatory approach and strong trading links.

To be considered for entry through Global Talent visa, applicants must have an endorsement from one of six endorsing bodies assigned by the Home Office. If the endorsement is approved of, the final immigration decision will be made by the Home Office.

The Home Office will refer your application to Royal Academy of Engineering, the British Academy, Royal Society or UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) if you are applying for endorsement in the fields of medicine, the social sciences or the humanities,  science, engineering, or other academic and research roles. These bodies will make an endorsement decision based on the information you give.

Best Immigration Lawyers explain that your application will be suggested to Arts Council England or Tech Nation if you are applying for endorsement in non-academic fields of arts and culture and digital technology. It follows different endorsement criteria.

These assigned Bodies have two sets of global talent visa eligibility criteria when assessing an Applicant:

Exceptional Talent criteria – It is for those applicants who have already verified that they have made a notable contribution as a leader to their field.

Exceptional Promise criteria – It is for those applicants who may be earlier in their careers but has already shown the capability to make considerable contributions as a future leader in their fields.

In Academia or Research:

If you want to qualify in the fields of Science, Engineering, Medicine and Humanities then you have to be an exceptional/emerging talent.

  • You have to qualify at least one of them-
  • Have a job offer as a senior academic or researcher in the UK
  • Have been a part of a research which is approved by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)
  • Must have obtained an individual fellowship in the UK

Not have any of these? You can still come into the UK but only if your application is endorsed by peer review. In that scenario, a prominent person with internationally recognised expertise in your field should write a letter of recommendation for you.
