Best Wicket Keepers in World Cup 2019

Best Wicket Keepers in World Cup 2019

With the World Cup already in full swing in England and Wales, there have been some breathtaking matches so far. While some of the players are trying to top the World Cup most wickets table, there are some others trying to be the best wicket-keepers.

1. MS Dhoni
India’s very own wicket-keeper MS Dhoni has played about three editions of the World Cup, being 2007, 2011 and 2015. He has claimed 32 dismissals in 20 games at a rate of 1.6 per innings. He had the most success in his previous tournament where he claimed 15 dismissals and made India reach the semi-finals in 2015. He had four catches against Bangladesh and this became his record number. This is the reason why we believe that Dhoni might be the best keeper in World Cup 2019.

2. Quinton de Kock
South Africa’s own madman de Kock took only nine innings to score his first ODI century against Pakistan in November 2013. He played 26 white-ball internationals before his Test debut against Australia in February 2014. He is well known for the ODI series in India in October 2015, where he scored two centuries in five innings. He scored two centuries and eight half-centuries in the 17 innings for South Africa, which makes him a strong contender for the best keeper in World Cup 2019.

3. Jos Buttler
Even though England has never won a trophy despite it being there from 1975, there are hopes this year with the best keeper in World Cup 2019, Jos Buttler. He scored three figures in just 20 balls against South Africa and had a 12-run win over Pakistan. He believes he can score more than his 46-ball century against Pakistan in 2015. He has five of England quickest 10 ODI hundreds to his credit.

4. Mushtafiqur Rahim
Bangladesh’s Mushtafiqur Rahim fits the description of the best keeper in World Cup 2019. Being the youngest player to play at Lord’s, we have every reason to believe why he can be the best keeper in world Cup 2019. He scored an ODI century against India. He scored a double hundred against Sri Lanka in 2013. In ODIs, he has scored more than 5000 runs and has a batting average close to 35.

5. Alex Carey
Australian batsman Carey has played 19 ODIs scoring 429 runs at 30.64. He is the only wicketkeeper in his team and has every reason to believe he can be the best keeper in World Cup 2019. Though he is a bit new to the field, his skills are unfazed at being a batsman.

With the World Cup about to reach the climax, who do you think will earn the title of the best keeper in World Cup 2019?
