Well, Google has always got you covered. Google is the most widely used search engine in the world. And what makes Google even better is that they are always innovating ways to improve themselves. In a similar attempt, Google rolls out a new feature for Indian entrepreneurs, influencers, entrepreneurs. The new feature enables these professionals to create their online visiting card, thereby increasing their search spectrum. This seems to be Google’s latest attempt to incorporate another LinkedIN’s functionality into its search engine.

Google further said that the large user base in India is the reason why they have first rolled out the so called people cards in India. However, the language support is still limited to English language.

To use this new feature, users will have to sign in their Google accounts wherein they can build their people’s card. Once created, try looking up for yourself on the google search bar. You will get a pop up reading “add me to Search” or “get started”. From there, you can easily fill up the form that asks for your bio with an image. You can link this card with your social channels, website, provide contact details, qualification, email address, etc. In short it is like making your LinkedIN profile as attractive and genuine as possible.

Google added that more the detail, better your search results will be. However, Goggle has limited the number of peoples card to one per account so that there isn’t any misuse of the feature.

Lauren Clark, product manager for Search at Google, writes in a blog post “We have a number of mechanisms to protect against abusive or spammy content, and if you come across low quality information or a card that you believe was created by an impersonator, you can tap the feedback link to let us know. If you no longer want your people card to appear in Search, you can delete it at any time.”

This is Google’s another attempt to build users’ reliance on a single platform where they can get everything they want online. Google has even added a job search feature in India similar to LinkedIN which was initially rolled out in the US in 2017.

Clarke further writes, “For the millions of influencers, entrepreneurs, prospective employees, self-employed individuals, freelancers, or anyone else out there who wants to be discovered, we hope this new Search feature will help the world find them. For people in India searching on mobile phones, people cards are rolling out in English starting today.”
