No matter if you are curious to explore the Whitsundays or another island of the world, this guide will clear all your doubts related to scuba diving. So, let’s get started!

What is Scuba Diving?

Scuba diving is an excellent way to explore the incredible marine world. Getting familiar with the sensations and the mysteries of the marine world among its breathtakingly attractive and colorful inhabitants will offer you great joy & happiness. Diving under the blue waters with a limited supply of oxygen on your back and with your fellow divers as your lifelines will surely become the memorable scuba diving adventure of your life. Over the past few decades, it has become a non-competitive but truly breathtaking venture sport.

Is it hard to scuba dive?

Don’t let this absurd misconception hold you back from experiencing scuba diving that it is a hard adventure. It may seem you too hard, requiring loads of time, strength, and money. But in the actual, scuba diving is the most indulgent kind of water sports to learn & enjoy. All it requires is excellent skills in propelling, breathing, and swimming.

However, if you are a newbie, then it’s crucial to learn Scuba diving. Learning scuba diving from experienced divers will help you learn various scuba diving techniques, essential things to consider before going into the water, and provide you with complete defensive scuba diving classes.

What do scuba divers do?

As scuba diving is an underwater sport, divers hold the breath for some time instead of utilizing breathing equipment in the water. They use regulators to provide themselves with a sufficient breathable gas, which they can comfortably breathe under the deep sea. Basically, the regulator decreases the pressure of the air from the container to that of the ambient pressure of the water encircling the diver, which further allows the scuba diver to breathe it in quickly.

Swimming in the deep sea with a single breath surely provides you with enormous self-confidence and improves your scuba diving skills. You may feel a little hesitant at first, but you don’t have to remove your dive mask and to exercise inhaling/exhaling through the regulator until you become comfortable enough with mouth-only breathing.

Can non-swimmers do scuba diving?

Many of you generally believe that non-swimmers can’t do scuba diving. But nothing like that!

Non-swimmers can also explore the marine world with scuba diving adventure. Being a non-swimmer, naturally, you feel nervous about your first diving experience & encumbered with both fear and excitement. But once you undergo proper scuba diving training, you will feel better. Communicate with your instructor and ask questions can help you make the most of your scuba diving adventure even if you are a non-swimmer.

Scope of scuba diver?

The scope of scuba diving is wide-spreading. If you are an adventurer, enthusiastic to enjoy only Whitsundays scuba diving or wanted to explore other islands, then you can consider it as an unusual fun sport activity underwater.

However, if you are a professional scuba diver and want to work across many industries, then there are a lot of career exploration opportunities for you. By getting proper training & certification in scuba diving course, you can offer services like photography in the seawater, inspection, or exploration of marine life. Being a commercial diver, you can expect faster-than-average growth in this profession.

What is the salary of a scuba diver?

As per the BOL Statistics (Bureau of Labor), professional scuba divers earn an average hourly wage of more than $25 & mean annual salary up to $54,750. And the highest salary they can have is about $93,910 and more.

Scuba divers are massively employed in coastal states, where they can earn a higher salary package. As it is the most-paying-region for scuba divers & you are interested in continuing your career in this field, then working in the coastal regions will give you more business exposures and payroll.

What is the difference between snorkeling and scuba diving?

Although snorkeling & scuba diving are both underwater activities that allow divers to explore the colorful marine world and adventures the ocean holds. They still differ from some aspects to each other.

The snorkeling needs specialized devices that can work efficiently at notable ocean depths. The deeper you jump, the more you will depend on your equipment. In snorkeling, you don’t have to elevate your head to breathe. You can wear exposure protection, like a rash-guard or wetsuit, but in some cases, you may also find the need to wear a drysuit. Snorkeling fins are far softer than scuba fins. They’ll move over your entire foot without a boot.

Similar to snorkeling, scuba diving needs a dive mask to cover your nose & eyes with a J-shaped breathing tank. Dive mask helps you keep water out of your eyes and from entering into your nose, while the snorkel allows you to save your face underwater and breathe easily. You also have to wear exposure protection like a wetsuit in temperate climes, a rash-guard in the tropics, and drysuit in cold water when you are scuba diving.

Conclusion:

We hope, now, you have understood everything related to scuba diving adventure and plan Diving Whitsundays. So, get out of your fear and devastating thoughts that you can’t dive. There’s a lot of fun-loving activities waiting for you to enjoy.
