What is GATE Exam?

The GATE examination is conducted jointly by IIT – Bombay, Kharagpur, Guwahati, Delhi, Roorkee, Kanpur, Madras, and Indian Institute for Science, Bangalore (IISC Bangalore) – on a regular recurring (rotational) basis on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB – GATE), department of higher education, Government of India, and Ministry of Human Resources & Development (MHRD).

IIT Delhi GATE 2020 Registration

The students can use the GATE Online Application Process System (GOAPS) for the GATE 2020 registration.

The students have to register as a “New User” for GATE 2020 examination registration and after successful registration, they can log in with their enrollment ID and GOAPS Password. The students need to fill the application form and also upload the mandatory documents as well.

GATE Eligibility Criteria

The student appearing for the GATE examination should select any one subject out of the 25 papers. The students are allowed to appear in only one paper.

The eligibility criteria are different for the different qualifying degree or examination as follow:-

BTech/BE/B.Pharm – (4 Years after 10+2 or 3 years after B.Sc/Diploma in Engineering/Technology) Pursuing final year or completed – the year of qualification not later than 2019.
Bachelor’s degree holders of Architecture (5 Years Course) Pursuing final year or completed – the year of qualification not later than 2019.
Bachelor’s degree in Science (Post-Diploma/4 Years after 10+2) Pursuing final year or completed the course – the year of qualification not later than 2019.
Master’s degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent Pursuing final year or completed the course – the year of qualification not later than 2019.
Integrated Master’s degree program or dual degree program in Engineering/Technology (4 Years Program) Pursuing 2nd/3rd/4th year or completed the course – the year of qualification not later than 2022.  
Integrated Master’s degree program or dual degree program in Engineering/Technology (5 Years Program)   Pursuing 4th/5th year or completed the course – the year of qualification not later than 2019.
Integrated M.Sc. or 5 years integrated B.Sc-M.S Program Pursuing final year or completed the course – the year of qualification not later than 2019.

Application Form of GATE 2020

IIT Delhi has opened the window of the GATE 2020 application form on the official website – from August 31, 2019. The aspiring students should complete the online application form and make the payment of application fees latest by September 24, 2019 (without late fees). In case if the students fail to do so, then they can submit the application form by October 1, 2019, with late fees.
